CCTV Camera Installation Cost in the UAE: What Affects the Price

The biggest single factor is how many cameras your site needs, and what type. A small villa entrance might only need two or three cameras, while a warehouse or multi floor office can need twenty or more.

Camera type also matters. Basic HD analog cameras cost less than 4K IP cameras, and specialty cameras such as long range or low light models cost more again. Labor and cabling cost depend heavily on the building itself. A new build with accessible ceiling voids and conduit already in place is much faster and cheaper to wire than an occupied building where cabling has to be routed around finished walls and ceilings. Sites that already have proper structured cabling in place are usually the fastest and cheapest to add cameras to.

Outdoor cameras also need weatherproof cabling and, in some cases, protected conduit, which adds a bit to material cost compared with a purely indoor installation.

In Dubai, many commercial CCTV installations need SIRA approval, and the equipment used has to meet SIRA's approved standards. This does not necessarily make a system dramatically more expensive, but it does rule out unapproved budget equipment that might otherwise look cheaper on paper. Outside Dubai, other emirates have their own approval processes through local police authorities, which can also shape what equipment is acceptable.

Paying for compliant equipment the first time is almost always cheaper than paying twice, once for non compliant equipment and again to replace it when an inspector flags it.

The upfront installation is only part of the cost picture. A CCTV system that is never checked or serviced tends to develop faults that go unnoticed until footage is actually needed, at which point it is too late.
